Sex-Positive Environment A sex-positive environment is an environment where all forms of sexual expression between consenting adults are recognized as legitimate forms of human sexuality and are celebrated. In a sex-positive environment, sexuality is considered a sacred act. Many forms of sexual expression are considered a form of worship. In a sex-positive environment, each individual is invited to worship within his or her belief system. Each individual is seen as a spirit within a body and thus is worshipped as a sacred being. A sex-positive environment is an environment that is conducive to all forms of human sexual expression as long as it is safe, sane, and between consenting adults. In a sex-positive environment, sacred sex, artistic sexual expression, BDSM, Tantric sex, Taoist sex, spiritual sexuality, and many other forms of sexual / sensual expression are not only encouraged, but are celebrated. It can include, but is not limited to romantic love, self-love, physical sex, spiritual sex, sex magick, fuck buddies, masturbation, sacred sex, sex play, sex healing, BDSM, creative artistic sexual expression, and explorative sex. Living in a sex negative society leaves us all deprived of human touch. It leaves us all in the dark when it comes to sensual / sexual arts and knowledge. In a sex-positive environment, education is a key component. Sexual educational materials are available. Sex play in Aphrodite’s Temple includes educational interactive workshops, artistic performance pieces, sex rituals, group sensual/sexual play, and sex magick practices. In the artistic performance pieces, material is presented in an artistic performance which demonstrates safety and information about how one can work with different forms of human sexual expression. The erotic aroused sexual body is viewed as a form of art. A sex-positive environment is a judgment free zone. It is a safe area for adults to explore all aspects of human sexual expression (within the guidelines of safe, sane, and consensual) without condemnation, put- downs, or other degrading behaviors. In a sex-positive environment, creative and experimental explorations of human sexuality are encouraged. A sex-positive environment is about developing and nurturing positive attitudes and values around sexuality and sensuality. In a sex-positive environment, erotic energy is raised and a circle of protection is called forth to ensure safety for each individual who enters. In a sex-positive environment, all genders within the diverse gender spectrum are acknowledged, accepted, and celebrated. All genders are equal. Typical misogynistic gender roles and stereotypes and the behaviors associated with them, are discouraged (except within the context of role-play for healing purposes). Gender bending, playing with gender role reversals, and exploring gender equality is encouraged. In a sex-positive environment, all sexual orientations are acknowledged, accepted, and celebrated. Heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, asexual, and explorations of sexual orientation are legitimate and recognized. Typical misogynistic attitudes about sexual orientation are discouraged (except within the context of role-play for healing purposes). Exploring one’s own sexual orientation, playing with sexual orientation roles, and discovering new experiences in sex play is encouraged. We live in the land of freedom. Yet, are we truly free when it comes to human sexual expression. Creating sex-positive environments provides each human being freedom of sexual expression. Breaking sexual taboos and exploring ecstasy in a sex-positive environment allows each individual to tap into a higher consciousness and develop the primal sexual being within. In a sense, human sexuality is the final frontier. Dare to go where no one has gone before. |
