Philosophy and Purpose

We live in a sex negative society with many myths, stereotypes, and taboos. The purpose of The Sacred Sex Temple is to help build healthy attitudes about human sexuality, break unhealthy myths, create a sex positive environment, provide a safe environment for people to express sexually with one another, and provide education which will act as a guide in making informed choices about sexual behaviors and sexual relationships.

The primary philosophy of the Sacred Sex Temple is: Sacred Sexuality - All acts of love & pleasure are My rituals. All acts of love are of the goddess and the goddess gives her blessing to us as we perform acts of love. An act of love includes all sexual, sensual, and erotic acts, which are performed by adults in a safe, sane, and consensual manner.

The temple is a sacred space which is about worship. In ancient times, people would come to the temple not only to worship the goddess, but to also be worshipped. I invite you to rekindle this old tradition by worshipping one another as sexual human beings and allowing others to worship you. Recognize the god/goddess aspect within each person. We are not just physical bodies. The body is a sacred temple which houses our spirit. We each shine with a glow, especially when we reach ecstasy. I invite you to see the spiritual beauty in one another as well as the physical beauty. Sex is a process of raising erotic energy either alone, or with others, bringing about pleasure and ecstasy for all participants. The energy raised is a form of power that can bring balance, transcendence, attunement, and healing. Sex is only partly about genitals and bodies. Much of sex happens in the mind and spirit. In our society, we are often goal oriented and goal focused. The temple is not about performance issues. It is not about having to reach an orgasm. It is about raising erotic energy and celebrating the gift of sexual expression. Allow yourself to be focused on the experience of sexual play, not the end result. Enjoy the adventure and journey of erotic play and if an orgasm happens, great. If not, that is great too.

We are constantly receiving stimulation. When we walk, we are receiving genital stimulation. Yet, it is not sexual. Often we are not even consciously aware of it. Sex is in part about focus and awareness. It is also about intent. It can include fantasy, role playing, and imagination.

We live in a touch deprived society. Yet touch has many benefits. Touch is a sense that is different from our other senses in that it is not localized. Our whole bodies are wired for receiving stimulations of touch. Touch is necessary for life. If infants do not receive human touch, they will die. Something very powerful is transmitted when we touch one another. For adults, it is necessary for physical and emotional health. Erotic touch is even more powerful. Think about how it feels when a lover provides an erotic caress. Our bodies respond and become charged with energy.
